Even better, most sites have the game for download with the patch already installed. The game was really only compatible with Windows 95 (and compatibility mode didn't help) but recently a patch was released and it now works with XP/Vista/7. If you started playing Magic early or appreciate the early sets, this is a great list of cards, but the biggest benefit was the ability to create a deck and play with a bot or other character. Then there was a "Duels of the Planeswalker" edition that included the original, Spells, and a limited amount of cards from Legends and The Dark. Spells adds Antiquities and Arabian Nights. The original game came with basically the Beta/Unlimited (wtih some Revised/4th) set and featured deck building, an RPG where you would challenge other decks, and even a booster draft and tournament game. It had an original version simply called "Magic: The Gathering" and then had an expansion called "Spells of the Ancients". The best was easily the Microprose game, it came out around 1997-1998.
